Reflection |
This was unlike any assignment I had ever done before and I really enjoyed it. Thinking about components of an argument really helped to improve my own arguments. I was the only one in my class that used an unpopular argument from Tomi Lahren and I chose it because it seemed to be a bit more challenging, and it certainly was. The source was written by somebody else about Lahren's argument. Not only did I have to analyze an argument, but I also had to analyze how the author made the argument. It took a bit more work to balance both in my essay, but it was achievable.
Something that i am particularly proud of for this piece is how it is short and to the point, but still conveys the message it needs to. I met all of the requirements given on our rubric and earned a perfect score. Writing this essay helped me to recognize that all sources contain some sort of bias and analyze the credibility of sources. Before I focused on this essay, I had never really checked for credibility of sources and just used whatever the first search result was on Google. it is important to actually look at where the information is coming from to see if it could even be useful to use in a research project. This newfound skill will definitely be useful to me for all projects in the future. |
